Recently, Raidus is putting netplay that works with the Game Boy and the Game Boy Color. The functionality even works with different games, which would make Pokémon multiplayer actually functional! This is a change from the way Libretro once did things!
This would radically change my game plans.
- If I decide to make a game “from scratch,” then I would not have to worry about using an external library when making my game. (I hope that I can still make a type of Pokémon Communication Center, though, which would mean that I would make a separate but related game that is supposed to be a server instead of a client.)
- If I decide to target ChaiLove, then I feel more comfortable in how Rob Loach’s implementation of networking would turn out. This may complicate things on his end, though, because he is the one implementing the API.
- If I decide to target the Game Boy Advance, then all I have to do is implement functionality of the Game Link Cable and let Libretro worry about implementing the actual functionality!

I was so busy these days; I ended up missing the anniversary!
I still am, which means that this post has to be short.
The games did not have that strong an influence on me; the first Final Fantasy game I have played is actually Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories!
Oddly, the first mainline Final Fantasy game I got was Final Fantasy VII.
I like I and II better, myself, though. I studied those games quite deeply, actually.
I am surprised that MegaMan (or, in this case, RockMan) was 30 years old today. I actually do not play the games that much. I did play the 1st entry of the main series and the 1st and 5th entries of the Battle Network games, though.
Today is the 20th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda 1 in Europe.

Please excuse the news blackout. Since July, I needed to rest, first. Afterwards, I got a new computer that replaced my old one which had a malfunctioning keyboard. After that, I spent my time setting up my computer to my liking and getting used to a new keyboard layout based on the 2nd ANSI Keyboard variation of the DH Colemak mod.* I am still yet from fully used to this layout, but I am reasonably competent here. Besides, I should not be putting off development of my games so long.
How does September 10 sound? I am not making any promises, but I should be getting back to work.
Recently, Yooka-Laylee got a rolling release.
While the game had a very successful Kixkstarter campaign, a big following, and successful delivery, Yooka-Laylee got some controversy over not only being too far a clone of the original Banjo Kazooie games but also copying the flaws of 3D collection/platformer games.
I am worried that Wuu Shyng would end up the same way.
While I plan on writting a more proper post on this idea, suffice to say that, from Telefang to Mino Monsters, clones of Pokémon did not really connect with audiences and, in fact, had even gotten controversy over this matter. I want Wuu Shyng to be a spiritual successor and a “love letter” of some sorts to Pokémon, but I do not want to blatanty clone the game, especially not its flaws. In fact, part of the reason why I am making Wuu Shying is because I want to fix flaws that the original Pokémon had! If this game does not go right…
